Wounded Purple Heart Army Hero Reunited With Puppy

I’ve been following this story on Facebook and was delighted to see the whole story here. A young soldier, Donny Eslinger, rescued a puppy in Afghanistan, stashed him in his backpack and carried him back to camp. The puppy, named Smoke, boosted the morale of the other soldiers. Only a month after the puppy’s rescue, Donny was seriously injured in a mortar fire attack. While he’s been recovering back in the USA, Donny’s father and his Staff Sergeant worked with The Puppy Rescue Mission to bring Smoke to the U.S. Last Wednesday, Donny was reunited with his beloved pup!
